Manifestación Cromática | Chromatic Manifestation - 2017

“Manifestación Cromática” se refiere a la aparición del color. Esa aparición de color es una metáfora para describir la maternidad y todo lo que trae consigo. Así como el color se manifiesta en un arco iris luego de una tormenta, en la maternidad nos encontramos con que traer a un ser humano al mundo está cargado de sentimientos profundos encontrados.
Los hijos traen muchos de esos momentos inolvidables llenos de amor indescriptible, pero también vienen con algunas otras facturas como cansancio permanente, frustraciones, culpa y preocupación. Es un compromiso de vida que nos obliga a abandonar parte de nosotros mismos, y sin embargo aun que venga con dolor, lo hacemos.
Esta muestra explora mediante chorreados de pintura agresivos, trazos cuidadosamente calculados (y otros más espontáneos) y líneas que trazan enredos, narrar a detalle las emociones y experiencias vividas durante mi primer año como madre primeriza.

“Chromatic Manifestation” refers to the emergence of color. That arrival of color is a metaphor to describe maternity and everything that comes along with it. Just as color surfaces in a rainbow after a storm, in maternity we find that bringing a human being into this world comes charged with endless profound contradicting feelings.
Children bring many of those unforgettable moments full of indescribable love, but they also bring with them other bills like permanent tiredness, frustrations, guilt, and worry. It’s a life-long commitment that forces us to abandon parts of ourselves, and yet, even if it comes with pain, we still do it.
This show uses aggressive paint pouring, carefully premeditated brushstrokes (and some a little more spontaneous) and lines that end up tracing knots, as methods to narrate in detail the emotions and experiences lived during my first year as a mother.
