Sin Armaduras | Without Armor - 2019
La exhibición “Sin Armaduras” trata sobre el desprendimiento de las máscaras sociales que usamos constantemente para protegernos. Pensamos que con esa protección evitaremos ser vulnerables, lo cual creemos nos hace frágiles. Esta muestra explora la fuerza y coraje que hay detrás del acto de ser transparente y honesto, primero consigo mismo y luego con los demás. El desapego de las máscaras nos premia con un alivio al sofocamiento social que sufrimos diariamente.
Al utilizar la organza industrial transparente como canvas, ayuda a destacar las diversas capas y texturas que se logran con la pintura, pigmentos, plumillas y aerosoles.
The show “Without Armor” is about the detachment of social masks we wear constantly to protect ourselves. We think that with that protection we avoid vulnerability, which we think makes us fragile. These pieces explore the strength and courage that’s behind the act of being honest and transparent, first with yourself and then with others. The separation from the masks rewards us with a relief to the social suffocation that we suffer daily.
By using industrial transparent organza as a canvas, we are highlighting the diverse layers and textures made as a result of the combination of several media such as paint, pigment, ink and spray paint.
